Today I get to meet my mother in law, Deborah. She’s from England, and she’ll be staying with us for about a week, from this evening until after the wedding next Saturday. I can hardly believe that our wedding is only a week away. It feels like this has been in the works forever now, though it has only been a little over a year. I got my hair trimmed this morning, and I was talking to my barber about it. He said he remembers how much went into his wedding, and that was over 30 years ago. Though he did say that given the choice, he wouldn’t change a thing. I told him that so much planning has gone into this for an event that will only last a few hours, it’s like planning the Normandy invasion, and not even getting to free Europe! That made him chuckle.
We’re still waiting to hear from our new recruiter in Korea. Our old recruiter can’t help us, since the company he works for isn’t recruiter for SMOE this semester. He sent our files to a guy he knows at another recruiter, and asked him to help us out. I’m still completely confident that we’ll get the jobs, but it’s going to take a little longer.
Speaking of jobs, I’m very happy with my new outside maintenance job at Weiler. Granted, it’s not terribly interesting, but I do get to be outside, and the day goes by very smoothly. Yesterday they sent Tony and I out by ourselves to get started, so that shows that they have a little trust in us already. So long as we put in an honest day of work, we’ll be fine. I do have a trusty new steed to carry my load, a Kawasaki Mule, which is a little utility truck made out of a four-wheeler. Here’s a pic.

My trusty steed.
That’s about it for today. Here is a cute vid of our cat Pangu, trying to be helpful, and succeeding in being cute.
